Do you struggle to avoid gluten-laden chocolate treats?

Do you walk past the bakery shelves as quickly as you can because you almost can’t resist the temptation?

Do you feel overwhelmed with just the thought of trying to please a loved one with a grain-free birthday cake?

Are you desperately looking for a magic recipe to satisfy your chocolate cravings (and remain grain-free)?

You aren’t alone, my friend! I was right there, where you are right now. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been there, feeling deprived,  and feeling sorry for myself. It wasn’t pretty, I can tell you that much. In fact, if anything, it was heartbreakingly painful.

I needed a solution. And I needed it yesterday.

So, I did what everyone does and hit Google! I searched and visited site after site, digging through pages and pages of recipes but nothing was going to fit my criteria: gluten-free, grain-free, chocolate and no sugar or artificial sweeteners. No magic answers. Whomp-whomp.

Did I find the perfect recipe I was looking for?

No.

So, I did the next best thing. Yes, I created my own recipes and now I don’t have to feel deprived!

The result?

Baker’s Dozen Chocolate Treats!

Inside the pages of Chocolate Treats, you’ll find recipes that I have personally created and tested with my family and my Premier Taste Testers (my awesome coworkers).

Inside Chocolate Treats you find that all the recipes are:

  • gluten-free
  • grain-free
  • made with coconut flour (the baked goods)
  • no starch flours
  • no processed sugar
  • no artificial sweeteners
  • GAPS friendly (with options when necessary)

But you’re probably wondering who I am and why you should listen to me, am I right?

My name is Starlene Stewart and I’ve been a food blogger since 2009. I’m also the author of Mastering the Art of Baking with Coconut Flour, the only book of its kind which will teach you how to work with coconut flour. After the release of Mastering, I discovered that there is a huge demand for baked goods recipes that use only coconut flour.

And so I set out to create a series of baked goods to fill that gap. Chocolate Treats is the fourth volume in the Coconut Flour Baked Goods series with a baker’s dozen of baked goods recipes plus 11 bonus recipes.

Review from Jennifer Dages

I love the series Coconut Flour Baked Goods.

Ms. Stewart has done a marvelous job with these recipes with coconut flour. Chocolate Treats is probably my favorite because I love chocolate so much. All recipes are grain free. You won’t feel deprived on a grain free diet if you have this cookbook because there are still chocolate treats you can have and stick to a grain free way of eating. How about Chocolate Cherry Loaf or White Chocolate Chip Loaf with Caramel Topping or Coconut Pecan Chocolate Fudge (not all the recipes are baked breads).

Chocolate Lover... you need this book!

Do your coconut flour recipes use eggs?
Yes. Coconut flour really needs the binding quality of eggs to hold the product together. I have tried using “flax eggs” but only for a couple of recipes.

I’m on the GAPS Diet, I thought chocolate was forbidden?
In the original versions of Dr. Natasha’s Gut and Psychology Syndrome Diet book, she said chocolate was off limits but she has updated her opinion on that as she has found that after some gut healing has taken place, some people find they can add it back into their diet. She recommends using a pure organic cocoa powder. You can read more on my blog here: Can I Have Chocolate on the GAPS Diet?
