Today the HealThy Mouth World Summit had all of the presentations available. I was able to listen to three more but there were still a few others that I wanted to listen to, so I went ahead and purchased the upgrade special which is $79 – this price is available until Monday night. There are a lot of extras that come with the upgrade special, including the Q&A sessions.
Today I listened to Ramiel Nagel, author of Cure Tooth Decay, Pam Killen whose talk was entitled The Role of Adrenal Function in Supporting Oral Health and How Copper Can Undermine Oral Health, and Dr. Bruce Fife who talked about oil pulling. I've been curious about oil pulling for 2 or 3 years now, but I kept hearing that if I have amalgams I had better not, or the oil pulling will loosen them.
Dr. Fife said in his presentation that oil pulling will not loosen well placed fillings and caps. He then went on to say if your fillings or caps are loosened or fall out as a result of oil pulling, it is because there is decay in the tooth under the filling and that we should be grateful to know that there is a problem. According to both my traditional dentist (who I don't think I will go to again – not after listening to the talk by Dr. Paul Rubin “Is Your Dentist Mercury Safe?”) and my holistic dentist, I have no cavities. But some of my fillings are more than a quarter of a century old so I am taking that into consideration. I am going to be aware that oil pulling may cause some of my old fillings to loosen (being prepared will keep me from freaking out, lol). I am going to go ahead and oil pull and see how things work out. I am very interested in the detoxing properties. Dr. Fife also wrote a book called Oil Pulling Therapy: Detoxifying and Healing the Body Through Oral Cleansing which I am going to buy pretty soon. It is just $9.99 for the Kindle version.
I am really happy about the upgrade package because all of the presentations are on MP3 which means I can put them on my little iPod and listen to them on my drive to and from work. I have been trying to get up at 6am to get to work by 8am and of course I am hitting the worst traffic of the day so my commute has lengthened from 1 hour to almost 1.5 hours morning and night. The alternative is getting up at 5am to try to get to work by 7am and I just don't think my adrenals can handle that early of a time in the morning.
Also all of the presentations have been transcribed and are in PDFs, I love this option is available as well.
