I get that. I really do. To tell you the honest truth, if I had not been invited to contribute to this bundle, I would not be promoting it. That said, my e-book Beyond Grain & Dairy is included in the 2015 Edition of the Ultimate Healthy Living Bundle and so I had to take a closer look at my co-contributor's products and I am wildly impressed! The 2015 Edition is a HUGE collection divided into several categories, everything related to healthy living. My affiliate partners at Sparks and Ultimate Bundles have truly outdone themselves this time. One of the things that has impressed me the most is the quality of products in this bundle. The Ultimate Bundles team is really picky about what items get accepted into the bundle and I'm so honored to be included!
I'm going to share with you the products which I think are the very best, and here's a secret just between you and me – the last bundle I personally bought was solely for the freebies – the bonus offers. So I'm going to start with the bundle swag!
Strawesome glass straws $15 value
The first thing that caught my eye was the glass straws! I have been wanting to get a set ever since I first saw them a few years ago. I can't even tell you why. They just seem elegant and super fancy. Kind of like having a special pretty cup to drink tea from. It just adds to the experience to have pretty things.
Okay, so I could have bought just one straw but I decided to get a Starter Set. I got four straws, two are 6″ long and two are 8″ long, and a cleaning brush was included. My shipping was $6.64 and after the $15 discount the set was $12.95.
Lexie Naturals $15 value
The next bonus I jumped at was Lexie Naturals' offer. I use a minimum of personal care products, and I make a point to use only products that are all natural so that I'm not adding toxic load to my body. After all our skin is our biggest organ. I started avoiding commercial products over a decade ago and I think avoiding these toxins (as much as is possible within reason) is one of the reasons why I am as healthy as I am, even with my genetic mutation (two copies of C677T – the most challenging combination of the MTHFR genetic mutation which causes my body to have trouble detoxing).
Lexie is offering two bonuses. Bonus A is free (with $5.50 standard shipping). Bonus A includes 1 lip balm, 1 one-ounce lotion tube and one trial size deodorant.
I opted for Bonus B which comes with everything you get in Bonus A, but you also get a second lip balm, a full size deodorant, and a sample of hard lotion. Bonus B is $13.00 after the $15 coupon, plus $5.50 shipping. Also, just to let you know, if you order more items, shipping stays at $5.50.
Lexie gets to choose which scents to send. She sent me Vanilla Coffee (which I love love love) and Lavender lip balms, Tea Tree Lavender for the full and samples size deodorants,”original” for the one-ounce lotion tube (which contains coconut oil, shea butter and beeswax), and the sample of hard lotion is peppermint.
So far I have tried the deodorant and I'm totally loving it. Now, I don't really have that much of a smell coming from under my arms, and in the last few months I've resorted to just dabbing homemade vanilla under my arms – which works pretty darned good. But Lexie's deodorant is working really good to cut any odor at all.
I totally love the little sample deodorant because I can carry it in my purse.
The lip balms are very nice. The lotion in the tube is super neat because I usually don't want to put lotion on my palms, just the backs of my hands and it glides right onto my skin very nicely.
But I didn't stop there. I also ordered the essential oil set from Plant Therapy. You get three essential oils: lemon, peppermint and lavender. And if you buy your bundle today (9/12) you'll get access to a webinar being held on Monday September 28th to show you how to use these three oils. The webinar will be live so you can ask questions!
This bonus is valued at $22.92. You get three 10ml bottles, with free shipping. There is a handling fee of $6.50.
And the final product that I ordered – the Bloom Naturals laundry “Scent”. I do not use fabric softener but have thought it would be nice to have a slight scent to my clothing, bedding, towels, etc. I haven't had a chance to try it, because it says to place a full dropper on a wool ball, and I don't have a wool ball. Actually, I wasn't even sure what a wool ball was! So I got a chance to ask Molly the owner of Bloom Naturals and she says it would be okay to use a sock or wash cloth.
At any rate, it smells good! It contains Oil of Grapefruit and Oil of Lavender.
The Bloom Naturals offer was for free SPOT treatment for acne or eczema, or a $15 Gift certificate. I decided to use my gift certificate to try the Healthy Scent for Laundry.
I haven't had a chance to redeem the other bonus items, but I am planning to follow through with them very soon.
Here are the other bonus items:
- ePantry – FREE hand soap + $8 credit on one shipment, FREE dish soap + $8 credit on the next shipment, AND 60-day VIP access with FREE shipping ($30 value)
- NaturOli – FREE travel essentials facial set: deep conditioning facial wash (1 oz.), new radiance facial creme (1 oz.), exfoliating walnut scrub (1 oz.) ($16.95 value)
- Perfect Supplements – $15 gift certificate toward any Perfect Brand product ($15 value)
- TriLight Health – FREE 2-oz liquid herbal formula or $15 off larger bottles ($15 value)
- Craftsy – 1 FREE online class ($44.99 value)
- Once a Month Meals – $32 toward OAMM membership + a free mini menu ($35 value)
It's always a challenge to figure out what can be used if you are on strict GAPS. Even many “allergy friendly” e-books are not okay for GAPS. But for the most part, I find that many allergy friendly books are pretty close, you just have to pay close attention to the ingredients. Most of the time you can make substitutions and then you're good.
I'm going to start with my very own Beyond Grain & Dairy – I'm kind of partial to it. 🙂 You'll get 113 recipes to show you there is no need to feel deprived on a diet that contains no dairy and no grains.
And by the way, when you purchase using my link, you get two extra bonus gifts – my two newest e-books. These have not yet been released but will be very soon! Just forward your purchase receipt to email@example.com. The first is Peace Joy Happiness: Empowerment, An Adult Coloring Book. I have already had some nice comments about this e-book. One gal said she really liked the idea of having a word to focus on while coloring. Another friend of mine actually wants to recommend to her clients so I am planning to offer Peace Joy Happiness as a real paper copy book. In case you haven't heard, adult coloring books are making a hit for adults everywhere as a way to relax!
The second freebie is Baker's Dozen Sweet Quick Breads, Volume 1 Coconut Flour Baked Goods. This e-book contains 13 recipes for quick breads that are sweet and fruity, and made with coconut flour!
The Grain-Free Lunch Box by Jolene Sloam is written by a mother who had her two boys on the GAPS Diet so this one is completely GAPS legal. So many great ideas for making your children lunches to take to school, or eat at home!
Honorable mention for We Can All Scream for Ice Cream by Jennifer Robins and Vivian Cheng. It is AIP (Autoimmune Paleo) safe, but it will need a few tweaks for GAPS. Two recipes use arrowroot flour, avoid those. One calls for plaintain and one for sweet potatoes, avoid those. Whenever you see maple syrup or coconut sugar use 1:1 substitution with honey.
And another honorable mention… Keeping Your Cool – Refreshing Real Food Beverages by Jessica Espinoza is very close to being GAPS legal with a few minor tweaks. Avoid the herbal coffee because it has chicory root (not allowed on GAPS) and substitute stevia and maple syrup with honey. Other than that, lots of refreshing yummy real food drinks! It's still hot enough in Arizona to make use of these delicious drinks!
I'm also really impressed with the Fitness section of this bundle – there are 10 e-books/e-course products. Ever since my back “went out” I have realized I need to strengthen my core – you know, my stomach and back muscles.
“…Fit2b members on the GAPS Diet love us because we're so low-key yet effective.”
So I'm really interested in checking out Foundation Five from Beth at Fit2B studio. Beth told me “I have a LOT of fit2B members who are also on the GAPS diet and love us because we're so low-key yet effective.”
Foundation Five “does do a lot to heal cores where the gut isn't being held in the right place to allow good flow, which can also contribute in MAJOR ways to intestinal issues. Strengthening one's natural corset will help line everything up again AND improve their everyday posture, and that's exactly what the F5+ focuses on.“
I definitely need some work in this area so I'll be checking this out in the coming weeks.
I'd also like to highlight Love Your Body: The Imperfect Girl's Guide to Positive Body Image by Elizabeth Walling. Do you engage in body hate? What is it costing you – how is it holding you back from the life you really want? This is a really good book on body image acceptance and most women can use help in this area.
There are 5 e-books/e-courses in the essential oil category.
With winter right around the corner, my pick for this category is How to Protect Your Family from Colds and Flu Using Essential Oils by Andrea at Aromahead Institute. This is a “…comprehensive three hour study on which essential oils you can use to prevent or recover from respiratory infections, why the oils work, and how to use them. It's a crash course in keeping your family healthy!”
One of the things Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride asks us to do when we start on GAPS is to also detox our homes, from household cleaners to personal care products. All of the e-books in this section are going to be very helpful in this area. It is hard to pick one, but I'm going to go with Detox Your Home by Katie the Wellness Mama. She's going to tell you about basic natural home supplies, general cleaning recipes, natural kitchen cleaning recipes, bathroom cleaning recipes, laundry recipes, clean indoor and water solutions, homemade natural products and finally Light and EMF toxicity solutions.
The products I have picked are just a tiny handful of what is available in the Ultimate Healthy Living Bundle. For just $29.97 you are getting 75 e-books, 3 printables, 13 e-courses and 3 membership sites. And it all comes with a 30-day total happiness guarantee! So if at any time within 30 days you decide the bundle is not worth $29.97, just contact customer service and let them know. Just to let you know, there is an option to upgrade to the e-reader versions for an additional $10 ($39.97), or you can buy a flash drive for $59.97.
